After giving four decades of dedicated service to the Barbados Fire Service, Chief Fire Officer Chesterfield Mayers' tenure will soon come to an end.

 

Mayers made this revelation yesterday during a presentation made by Co-operators General Insurance to assist the Fire Service in its fire detector programme.

 

The fire chief told the media and other invited guests that yesterday's event would probably be the final presentation of its kind under his watch, since he will be going on vacation from June 16 and subsequently heading straight into his retirement.
