Woman Dies In Building Fire

A building fire claimed the life of a woman on Sunday morning in the City. Dead is Anita Griffith, 44, a security officer with RDH Security, Griffith was reportly in her room and unable to get out of the Constitution Road, St. Michael building.

The fire which started around 3:00 a.m. kept fire officers engaged for several hours, eighteen firefighters, under the command of Chief Fire Officer Chesterfield Mayers and Deputy Fire Chief Anthony Blackman, valiantly fought the fire before it was brought under control. Three water tenders and the combined ladder platform were used during the operation.
