Man Charged With Setting Grass Fire On Bail

A Christ Church man has been charged with setting fire to a grass field at Fairy Valley, Christ Church, on Good Friday.

Henderson Oneal Burke, 38, of Lowther's Hill, is accused of making himself a public nuisance by setting fire to the field.

He was released on $3 000 bail with a surety after denying the charge when he appeared in the District "A" Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Barbara Cooke-Alleyne.

Burke is expected to appear before Magistrate Robert Simmons in the District "B" Magistrates' Court tomorrow. (JR-B)

Good job, well done to all those involved in apprehending this culprit. The Barbados Fire Service resources have been heavy utilized this sugar cane season, something needs to be done regarding the high incidence of fires occurring of late. We don't need these individuals making our jobs more difficult than it already is.
